Chat

Ask questions across organization knowledge, projects, reviews, uploaded files, and connected tools.

Chat is an AI assistant for security, privacy, compliance, and review questions. It is best for exploratory work: understanding evidence, asking follow-up questions, checking what a policy says, comparing a proposed design to organization guidance, or deciding what to review next.

You can even use it to edit answers within a review.

Editing answers with chat

For a structured, auditable assessment against a review template, run a review.

How it works

Chat is an agent with tools. Depending on your permissions and your organization’s integrations, it can search or read:

  • Knowledge Base documents
  • projects, reviews, answers, and citations
  • files uploaded to the current conversation
  • pasted links and connected records, such as Confluence pages, GitHub pull requests, tickets, or ServiceNow records
  • project and review setup actions, when those actions are enabled

When Chat has supporting records, a sources button appears under the answer. Open it to check where a claim came from. If an answer has no sources, ask which sources it used or ask it to search a specific project, review, or policy.

Controls

Use @ in the input to focus the conversation on a project, then optionally one or more reviews inside that project.

When you're reading a review, you can click on 'Chat with this question' to open up the chat and include that question as a focus.

Use + to upload a file for the current conversation. Chat uploads are conversation context only; they do not become project sources or Knowledge Base content. To add review evidence permanently, use project sources.

Use Chat history to reopen or delete recent chats. When you are chatting from a project, history is filtered to that project.

On the full Chat page, use Share to copy a conversation, copy it as Markdown, or download it as Markdown.

Starting reviews

When review creation is enabled, Chat can start a review from an existing project or help create a new project from files, links, tickets, or repository context. It chooses a review template when the fit is clear and asks you to choose when it is not.

Admin controls

Admins and owners can configure organization-level chat behavior from Settings > General > Chat.

The System Prompt Extension adds organization-specific instructions to Chat. Keep it short, and put source material in the Knowledge Base instead of the prompt.

When Chat Admin is enabled, admins can open All Chats to review organization chat history, including creator, update time, status, origin, and project association. If the feature is not enabled, the page shows Feature Not Available.
