Figma

Connect Clearly AI to Figma and FigJam.

Connect Figma so you can add Figma and FigJam files to a Project as sources. Clearly AI only reads files and does not change anything in Figma.

The Figma integration authenticates with a Figma access token. Signing in with Figma (OAuth 2.0) is not available.

Create a Figma access token

Use one of these tokens:

  • A personal access token reads the files its owner can open in Figma. Create it from the Figma account Clearly AI should act as, such as a service account.
  • A plan access token reads files across your Figma plan. A Figma plan admin creates it.

To create a personal access token:

  1. In Figma, open the account menu and select Settings.
  2. Select the Security tab.
  3. Under Personal access tokens, click Generate new token.
  4. Enter a name, set an expiration, and assign the file_content:read, file_comments:read, and projects:read scopes.
  5. Copy the token. Figma shows it only once.

See Manage personal access tokens in the Figma docs.

Create a personal access token from a Figma account with a Full or Dev seat. Figma allows View and Collab seats only a few file reads per month, so imports fail soon after setup.

Set up Figma

An admin sets up Figma once for the whole workspace. Everyone who adds Figma sources uses the same token.

Open the Figma integration

In Clearly AI, open Organization settings, select Integrations, then select Figma.

Paste the token

Paste the token into Shared API Token. Read the notice about shared credentials and check I understand.

Save and test

Click Add workspace credential. Clearly AI tests the token before it saves it.

Add a Figma file as a source

In Figma, copy the link to the design file, FigJam board, or Slides deck.

Paste it into the Project

Open a Project and click Manage Sources. Paste the link into the source field, then click Add Sources.

Clearly AI accepts file links whose path starts with /design/, /file/, /board/, /slides/, /deck/, or /proto/, such as https://www.figma.com/design/<file_key>. It imports the full Figma document, including the file's branches.

Figma project and team links can't be added as sources. Add the link for each file instead.
